iPhone photos from today. I was out shooting film and decided to screw around with the phone as well. The bottom three photos are mini landscapes made from the dirt blown into snow drifts.
Christmas dinner in home of Earl Pauley, near Smithfield, Iowa. Dinner consisted of potatoes, cabbage and pie. Photo by Russell Lee, Farm Security Administration, 1936.
When I hear Iowans my age whining about how they can’t afford their (3000 sq foot suburban) homes and how Obama is the reason they can’t make it in life, I think back a few generations to when people actually knew what being spread thin was all about. I’m surrounded by so many entitled whiners who have no grasp of reality or ability to recall the not so distant past. Our great grandmas would slap us if they were still alive and if they knew just how ungrateful most of us are.
I started developing film again last week. I’m going to give private photography lessons and hope that it’ll get me back into the swing of things. This roll of film spans January-October 2012.
Not wanting the weekend to ever end… Riding around at sunset. I re-found one cool route and discovered a new set of service roads by the river tonight just as it was getting dark. I bought a Wiseco piston kit for this bike and will be rebuilding the top end next week. It’s going to rip after that.
I finally managed to shoot a roll of film this past Monday. Hasselblad 503cx, Kodak Tri-X, Rodinal 1:50.
